The new Infineon research center will directly enhance the collaboration with the Infineon Semiconductor AI Lab of AIRi@UTCN. By bringing the industry operations closer to our campus, this hub will accelerate our joint research initiatives. Our 13 years ongoing synergies focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to drive the next generation of microelectronics - specifically through the AI-assisted automation of analog circuit design, multi-criteria optimization, and advanced pre- and post-silicon verification.
As Tim Gutheit, Vice President Technology & Innovation Automotive at Infineon Technologies, highlighted:
Proud moment for Infineon: we have officially opened our new R&D office in Cluj, further strengthening our presence in Romania. Together with the team in Cluj, we are continuing the Infineon Romania success story and opening an exciting new chapter. It was truly inspiring to celebrate this milestone with our long-standing research partners from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, colleagues from Cluj and other Infineon sites, as well as friends and partners from the high-tech ecosystem in Transilvania!

We are happy to see our partnership grow and look forward to fostering an even stronger innovation ecosystem that benefits our researchers, students, and the broader tech community.
