The Minister was received by Prof. Vasile Țopa, Rector of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, and Prof. Adrian Groza, Vice-Rector for IT Infrastructure and Digitalization. During the visit, they presented AIRi@UTCN’s vision, strategic objectives, and role in strengthening artificial intelligence research, innovation, and digital transformation within the university and beyond.
The visit also included a guided tour of the Institute’s future facilities, offering an opportunity to discuss AIRi@UTCN’s current capabilities, research directions, and the practical needs involved in developing a strong AI innovation ecosystem.
The meeting created space for an open and constructive dialogue on collaboration between academia, industry, and the public sector. The discussions focused on how research and technological development can be translated into real-world solutions with meaningful economic and societal impact.
Through initiatives such as AIRi@UTCN, the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca continues to support the development of applied artificial intelligence, interdisciplinary research, and partnerships that connect scientific expertise with Romania’s broader digital transformation priorities.
