Google DeepMind’s international scholarship programme

Faculty of Automation and Computer Science

The Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (UTCN), through its Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, is continuing its collaboration with Google DeepMind, a global leader in artificial intelligence research and development, for the sixth consecutive year. As part of Google DeepMind’s international scholarship programme supporting students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, two new scholarships will be awarded to candidates admitted to the Artificial Intelligence and Vision (IVA) Master’s Programme for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The two scholarships provide financial support throughout the entire duration of the Master’s programme and aim to facilitate access to advanced education and research for academically outstanding students facing socio-economic challenges. Through this initiative, UTCN and Google DeepMind support the development of a new generation of specialists capable of contributing to the advancement and application of artificial intelligence technologies.

Each scholarship has a total value of USD 33,924 and includes:

  • An annual stipend of USD 13,762;
  • A one-time academic travel grant of USD 2,400;
  • A one-time equipment allowance of USD 2,000 to support study and research activities;
  • A one-time relocation allowance of USD 2,000. In addition to financial support, the programme provides access to academic and professional development opportunities, including participation in international conferences and connections with a global community of researchers and professionals in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
