Abstract
The project focuses on advancing autonomous robotics through AI-driven perception, learning, and navigation, with applications in mobile robots, robotic arms, AMRs, and humanoid robots. The research addresses three main directions: Sim2Real transfer, developing simulation-based models and policies that can be efficiently transferred to real robotic platforms; Knowledge Distillation, enabling the compression and optimization of large AI models into smaller, resource-efficient models suitable for embedded robotic systems; and Robot Localization and Navigation, developing robust perception, sensor-fusion, and autonomous action frameworks using Visual-Language-Action (VLA) models, LiDAR, ToF and IMU sensors. In collaboration with Analog Devices, the project integrates advanced sensing technologies and AI methods on an ADI-ARM mobile robotic platform, with the objective of improving autonomous decision-making, manipulation capabilities, and real-world deployment of AI based robotic systems.
