Abstract
BRIDGE-AI connects the HPC and AI infrastructure of AIRi@UTCN with organisations that want to apply artificial intelligence to real operational problems. The project is developed together with BRINEL | IQANTO under a collaboration protocol between the two organisations. It provides a structured path from an initial business question to a solution validated on the institute's computing infrastructure, and then to operational use inside the organisation. BRIDGE-AI is open to companies and public institutions in manufacturing, distribution, healthcare and the public sector. Beyond individual engagements, it establishes a repeatable model for industry access to the institute's infrastructure: a shared way of scoping projects, a common technical and governance baseline, and the involvement of students and doctoral researchers in work with direct application in the regional and national economy.
Areas of work Four areas, from infrastructure access to operational adoption.
- Sovereign AI infrastructure Making the institute's computing capacity usable by organisations, with workloads and data remaining in the country.
- Infrastructure, platform and software as a service models
- Right-sizing compute for each AI workload
- Resource allocation, governance and operational support
- Applied AI projects Joint projects with real beneficiaries, running on AIRi@UTCN infrastructure.
- Computer vision, agentic AI and machine learning
- Model evaluation and benchmarking before investment
- Support for moving validated pilots into operational environments
- Security, compliance and data sovereignty So that organisations with strict data requirements can develop and run AI workloads here.
- Alignment with European regulation, including NIS2 and the EU AI Act
- GDPR, data protection and cybersecurity practice
- Controlled access, resource isolation and governance
How an engagement works The lane shows which partner leads each stage. 4. Talent and industry collaboration Connecting academia, industry and future specialists around applied work.
- Student and doctoral involvement in applied projects
- Industry workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions hosted at AIRi
- Collaboration with technology partners and research communities
