Abstract
AI4INO aims to develop an integrated regional research-development-innovation infrastructure dedicated to the testing, validation, and adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, conceived as a reference hub for collaboration among academia, the private sector, and public authorities in the North-West Region. The infrastructure will be oriented toward supporting AI-based applications with an immediate and visible impact on society and toward stimulating innovation processes in strategic fields, in line with smart specialization priorities and with the objectives of the National Strategy for Research, Innovation and Smart Specialisation 2022-2027, as well as the specific objectives of the North-West Regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3 N-V) 2021-2027.
Objectives
The project seeks to accelerate the digital transformation of the North-West region by creating an infrastructure equipped with high-performance computing equipment and specialized hardware and software modules for developing AI-based solutions, while facilitating effective collaboration between research organizations and SMEs through knowledge, resource, and expertise transfer.
O1. Development and equipping of a technical-scientific infrastructure, organized as a regional hub, for collaborative research and the testing of AI applications in real-world conditions, in collaboration with SMEs.
O2. Research, development, and validation of AI-based solutions with immediate social impact, in collaboration with SMEs, in fields such as mobility, environment, health, resilience, and cybersecurity, with the aim of sustainably improving quality of life.
O3. Stimulating regional AI innovation and entrepreneurship through accelerators for AI startups with a social component, plus support for prototype development and demonstrations
